Amino Acid and Protein Footprint Mapping
Proteins can be big or small. Their functions are as diverse as their structures. Proteins are made up of unique sequences of amino acids and designed to bind a variety of molecules. Binding can drastically change protein structure and function.
Our research is focused on determining the footprint of amino acids and proteins when binding to phospholipid membranes. We use constant pressure insertion assay to assess the binding interface. The knowledge of binding interface helps to identify binding sites, the mode of binding, and also understand protein function.
